“If you don’t watch out, he’ll make you shout…or better yet, scream for your life!”
Horror is usually attributed to the Halloween season, especially horror films. There is a sub-genre, however, that sometimes gets overshadowed. The Christmas slasher film is a well known category of horror flicks. With classics such as Black Christmas and Silent Night Deadly Night, or the more recent Krampus, it really holds up due to a strong cult following. At the RIP film festival on Halloween of 2015, another entry was unleashed. That film is the soon to be cult classic, All Through the House! Written and directed by the talented Todd Nunes and produced by the Readmond company, the film is the recipient of multiple awards from various film festivals such as Best Director, Best Actress, Best Slasher, and Audience Choice.
THE PLOT
Rachel Kimmel (Ashley Mary Nunes) has returned home from college for Christmas break, but things are a little uneasy. The neighborhood is still a dark place since the disappearance of five year old Jamie Garrett fifteen years earlier. As Rachel gets reacquainted with her grandmother, Abby (Cathy Garrett), she reads a card from Mrs. Garrett (Melynda Kiring) asking if Rachel could help with decorating her home for Christmas. Out of sympathy, she agrees to do so after she goes shopping with her friends. Upon returning, Rachel and her friends, Gia (Natalie Montera) and Sarah (Danica Riner), see Mrs. Garrett off for a few hours so they can get to work.
Little do they know, their night of innocent fun is about to take a turn for the worse. A sadistic killer (Lito Velasco), dressed in a sinister looking mask and Santa Claus suit, has been slowly stalking the neighborhood leaving nothing but a bloody trail of bodies behind…and the Garrett house is his next target! As the girls look around the home, it becomes clear that Mrs. Garrett is a very troubled woman and has some dark secrets of her own. Rachel also quickly discovers that there is more to the story than she and everyone else ever knew!
SHOULD YOU SEE IT?
This was a pretty cool movie, but it may not be for everyone. If you’re looking for a creepy supernatural or paranormal found footage type movie (which is all the rage lately), then you may wanna look elsewhere. If you LOVE 80’s style slasher flicks such as Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp, and Halloween, then this is right up your alley! It’s got all the great ingredients for such a film…blood, boobs, cheese, and dark humor! A special bonus is the great special effects that are included. Brought to us by Tommy Pietch and Josh McCarron, the film contains some gruesome and bloody images that are sure to satisfy the most ravenous gore hounds! Great Holiday Flick!
“It’s an unpredictable gore fest filled with holiday cheer and unadulterated horror!” – Horror Society
